Answers on a Postcard zines
A series of crafty business zines by Katy Penman of Girl Industries.
Katy contacted lots of friends and acquaintances out there in the world of craft (including me!) and asked them a series of questions about their crafty skills, practices and business. The result is a series of 12 zines, to be released on a monthly basis.
Issue 1 – the book review issue
Recommended reading suggested by a range of crafty types, and 10 incredibly detailed reviews of some of the most popular crafting books around. Red paper cover.
Issue 2 – the crafting rituals issue
23 interviews with crafters from a range of disciplines, answering how they ‘get in the crafting zone’ when settling down to create something new, or work on a crafty project. Green paper cover.
Issue 3 – the crafting goals issue
27 crafters talk about their ‘Ultimate Crafting Goals’ in terms of their art, crafts, or small business. Many of the contributors make and sell their own crafts, and some are crafting for the sheer enjoyment of it all. Yellow paper cover.
Issue 4 – the starting a crafty business issue
20+ crafters talk about how and when they decided to start their own craft businesses. Blue paper cover.
Issue 5 – the crafty advice you wish you'd had issue
20+ crafters give advice for anyone running a small crafty enterprise, ranging from the pithy to the in-depth, and contributions are made from those with a range of businesses, including new to the scene and well-established, in all kinds of different crafty fields. Pink paper cover.
Issue 6 – the crafting and home life issue
24+ crafters talk about whether they feel their home life and crafting can co-exist peacefully. Red paper cover.
